AmericanMuscle.com heads to New Jersey Motorsports Park with our 2012 Boss 302 Mustang and a 2010 Camaro SS (oh yes we did!) for a little bit of fun!

Lap Times:
2012 Boss 302 Mustang 1:20.392
2010 Camaro SS 1:22.440

The 2012 Ford Boss 302 Mustang was not only more comfortable on the track, but much more at home than the similarly rated 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS. We realize that the Boss is a purpose-built motorsports car (even though it's stock). To be fair, the Camaro was completely stock, as well. With a 2.048 second lap time difference, the Boss would gain more and more of a separation over time. It held up better at high speeds and extreme driving, with better handling, less brake fade and quicker acceleration.

  • I would like that car to race a ZL1

  • @starksy17 yea ok dumb fuck mustangs are the worst handling cars on the face of the earth thats why ford takes a standard gt that already cost 35,000 dollars and add 15,000 dollars worth of technology to make it handle even decent and put really nice tires on it too, all season rubber on the ss vs race tires on the boss doesnt help the camaro i could buy a 98 z28 put a lid on it and exhaust and 3,000 dollars worth of suspension and tires on it and fuck any rustang on the stripe or road course

  • i don't care what people will say. result was MUSTANG won the GAME:)) stop ifs and maybes... and you guys don't know as much a guy who has 10 years exprience of racing..

  • Maybe next time get a couple of guys who actually KNOW how to drive on the track?

    I dunno...

  • @mediumpimpn in power to weight ratios and car world, yes thats huge

  • @35thanniversaryss Well, considering the turn coming up, if he didn't hit the brakes, he would have been wrapped around the tree.. much like most camaro's that try and take turns fast.. how ironic

  • did anyone notice the camaro hitting its breaks and letting the rustang go by on the strait

  • Camaro fans I feel for ya, kinda like Chicago Cubs fans. I have to respect your loyalty.. Bottom line = 1st corner and the race is over for the Camaro. 2 seconds is a spanking @ NJMP., Let's face it, the Camaro is a fine cruiser but at the track it's just outmatched by the Mustang.

  • Not really huge, but significant. Power to weight is everything and adding more power usually means adding more weight in the front of a car, which makes the balance worse.

  • The only thing this video shows is a guy driving a Camaro with a vagina between his legs.
