SLRDVS - LA Scoring Strings

And welcome to yet another installment of the Sample Library Demonstrations Video Series. This time we're checking out LA Scoring Strings, a groundbreaking string library. There are a lot of people that love this library, and others that think it's awful. So you all can decide for yourselves... I'm halfway. It has its high points, certainly, but then again there are out-of-tune notes all over the place. Here's the timeline:

Do you know why I can´t hear when I paly? I´ve loaded the instruments, and I try to play, but cant hear anything.

@Hewleri It could have something to do with your sound setup. Go to 'Options' and see if your stuff matches up... if something seems odd, shoot me a message.

@gkgyver Ha, I think it was about 2 am when I made this video... my mind was elsewhere, believe me. I think I'll probably end up re-doing it with some updates as well as proper terms (d'oh!). Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the comparison of LASS an CS that you're planning, that's the video I'm looking for and haven't found it yet on youtube. I need to see that because I want to decide which of them I should buy...

@eBaSsplAyEr94 Yeah, that video should be up within a few days. It's taken a surprising amount of planning to do this comparison. Both of the libraries are so complex, with so many features and nuances. However, the research required for this has helped me to understand string libraries as a whole SO much better. I'm going to be recording the video probably tonight/tomorrow, should be up within a day or two after that. Thanks for the comment!

The tuning issues you mention are actually part of what makes this library sound so damn nice when everything is playing together. With a lot of other libraries you start to get a nasty 'organ' like sound when you start blending sections together, but with LASS everything combines perfectly. Tuning used to be a problem with the initial release of LASS, but it has been tightened up a lot with updates and it is not a problem at all for me now. Play any patch in a song and it sounds great!
