This is a new service message advertisement created by Operation: Safe Community.

Operation: Safe Community is a joint initiative by law enforcement, government and business leadership to make Memphis/Shelby County one of the safest communities of its size in the country by 2011.

The initiative is spearheaded by Mayor Herenton, Mayor Wharton, U.S. Attorney David Kustoff, District Attorney Bill Gibbons, Director Larry Godwin, Sheriff Mark Luttrell, and supported by Memphis Tomorrow, the Memphis Shelby Crime Commission and University of Memphis Center for Community Criminology and Research.
