Everything flows, nothing remains.
Vanity of vanities, all is vanity!
Life is the farce we are all forced to endure.

Sometimes, when you're depressed, it's good to see something depressing.
A contemplation of the fleetingness of life. To help appreciate what you have.
A meditative experience. A spiritual toy. A reminder of the preciousness of existing.

Created by Auriea Harvey & Michaël Samyn.
With Zoë Keating on cello.

Made at the occasion of The Art History of Games symposium in February 2010 in Atlanta.

  • i just wish that it will be freeeee.

  • @xRAINxOFxBLOODx its now on android market.

  • I love you Tale of Tales...but why can't it be on android? :(

  • Sorry I have to run and get it.

  • I just bought it =P woo!

  • @salvagebar The thing is, Vanitas includes tilting the iPhone to move the objects around. You can't just do that with the keyboard, because the tilt mechanism is based on the physical location of the iPhone. They would need to pretty much completely remake the game.

  • I'll just say it: make this for PC. iPhones are good, solid technology; they are usable and well-made. Living in a giant city, I see that they have especially captured the imagination of the creative class here, in New York.

However, I can't afford an iPhone. At all.

I did LOVE "The Path", and I appreciated that it would run on my PC, which isn't a very high-performing machine, and even recognized my XBOX controller.

  • Pretty awesome
