DVD Review I did for ExpoTV back in the day. Still in my top ten fav films of all time. Right up there with Cinema Paradiso and Back To The Future.

From IMDB:

Two imprisoned men bond over a number of years, finding solace and eventual redemption through acts of common decency.

Director: Frank Darabont
Writers: Stephen King (short story "Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption"), Frank Darabont (screenplay)
Stars: Tim Robbins, Morgan Freeman and Bob Gunton

  • is the music in the background a classical score or is it the music from "the last guardian"?

  • @alexanderalexanders The music playing in the background of my shots is the actual score from Shawshank by Thomas Newman. The music in the trailer is also scored by Thomas Newman but it's from a different film, not sure which. His music has been used alot in different trailers.

  • Also out of curiosity what are your top 10 favourite films?

  • @TheGeoffDuck Ya know, I read this comment when you posted it, and I went to thinking about what my top ten would be, and then I just totally forgot to reply. You really did make me think about it. It changes every so often, but my top ten usually seems to be a combination of these movies. Back To The Future, Cinema Paradiso, Goodfellas, Die Hard, Casablanca, The Shawshank Redemption, Fresh, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, Fright Night, and Ratatouille.

  • @prejusapatrick Hey, sorry for late reply been busy with university work, Ill have to watch the ones you have listed that ive not seen! like back to the future heard good things about it never gotten around to watching it.

  • i agree with you, it is the best movie ive ever seen. great story, and great ending. my favorate drama book too although i think the movie is a little beter

  • @DickLodge68 That's how it is for most people. I'm just weird that way. For me it's in my top ten because it just sparks my imagination every time I see it. For a movie to be in my top ten it has to give me chills, inspire me in some way, and really display a sense of gravitas. I know it's silly, but Back To The Future does that for me.

  • @prejusapatrick You are talking about Back to the Future.....well yes, it has some humorous moments and is an enjoyable film overall. It's a fun flick - but in would make my top 100 list - not my top 10.

  • @DickLodge68 Oh absolutely. I know alot of it is nostalgia, after all I was 10 in 1985. But I watch it now and every bit of that movie either makes me laugh or dazzles me. For a comedy it has some strong sci-fi elements and has some rather thrilling moments, especially in the last 15 minutes. I think it's just pure joy and inventiveness. And Alan Silvestri's score helps quite a bit.

  • @prejusapatrick Thanks for the post. Hope is a dangerous thing. It's on my top 5 list of motion pictures...ever. But I noticed in your top 10 was Back to the Future? Really?
