This guy is a moron. The breeder do take good care of the animals because pet shops won't take an animal from a breeder that is not heathy because it won't sell. Also the pets at the shelter are animals that were pets and got mistreated. The only way you can ones not from breeders is in the wild. guinea pigs are from south America. Taking them from the wild is wrong. Also do you REALY think letting them out that someone would not just put them back unless your taking them with you, in that case

Why specifically Guinea Pigs? Chinchillas aren't even native to america. Did you happen to see all those birds in massive numbers to a tiny cage. Letting animals out of their cages won't help shit. All you'd be doing is making some pimple faced employee chase them around the store and you'd get kicked out. Teach you daughter better than to be a douche like yourself.

I agree with adoption over buying...but what the hell good will letting a guinea pig loose in a pet store do?! Chances are it will either get killed by getting stepped on, starve to death or simply be caught and put back in the cage for sale.

Adoption is preferable to buying, but what do you think you will accomplish by letting guinea pigs loose from one store, aside from stressing those animals? Your goal of pushing for adoption is noble but you're going about it in completely the wrong way.
