At Old Westbury Gardens Picnic Pops Concert Series July 20, 2011...Was a beautiful night with these great musicians, dancers & a wonderful crowd.
The band? The usual heroes: Jon-Erik Kellso, Jim Fryer, Dan Levinson, Dan Block, Marc Lopeman, Andy Stein, Peter Yarin, Ken Salvo, Vince himself, and Arnie Kinsella.
Here they take on the 1931 Henderson chart (or is it a Don Redman one?) of King Oliver's DIPPER MOUTH BLUES -- originally named for that young man from New Orleans, then called SUGAR FOOT STOMP:
Thanks to Michael Steinman for help with the posting.
The sound system makes everything sound so tinny. When Lopey solos at 2:00 sounds like he's playing a toy sax.
