@ollitrollis yes thats a smart idea. But it is highly illegal for anyone to burn plastics.

This makes me want to take a giant net to clean up the ocean.... a solution to this is to use plastic as a material to burn for energy at power plants and use the toxic gases to create pressure systems in factories like BMW is doing! check it out... theyre doing a great job :)

No. The birds can get it down to their digestive systems just fine. The real problem is that a piece of plastic has no nutrients and they die of starvation.
