Is a feature-length Japanese animated musical film originally released on December 1, 2003. The film is the visual realization of Discovery, an album by Daft Punk. Each track from the album has been animated as an episode in the story of the abduction and rescue of an interstellar pop band. The film was produced by the creators of the Discovery album, along with Toei Animation, under the supervision of Leiji Matsumoto. The film has no dialogue and minimal sound effects.

@IamEephus the music was made before the film. it's their album Discovery (2001) realized visually as a movie, and Daft Punk worked side by side with Leiji Matsumoto of Toei Animation. and Daft Punk have never fully defined their sound...

I do like the movie but its hard to appreciate and the music seemed quite out of charecter for Daft Punk. My movie rating 3/5.

@uploooood i think they had some hand in the story/characters too, otherwise it would be leiji shinawhatevhakka's interstella 5555 instead of daft punk and samurai jack watatatatata's interstella 5555

The guy with long locks(not the short guy) was put in a another anime series called Galaxy Railway. Its a 2005 anime. He was a bit modified. :P
