I'm only 13, and my dad is an anesthesiologist, and he has been teaching me about this. I really think I want to be in the medical profession, same thing as him. He told me it's a LOT of extra school...and I understand that. He had 8 years of college at St. Vincents, and 4 years of residency. I really like your videos. They are very informative. I know I'm only 13, but I am pretty sure this is what I want to do.
Thanks for the videos.
(I impressed my Dad with this info..haha.)

Can you describe in detail what unconsciousness really is and if pain is felt but not remembered? Is this question more psychology than anesthesiology?

I'm a nursing student and I found this very informative! Thank you so much! :)

I was full anesthesia 2 days ago for my right knee! In my hospital, the surgery room was scary! And I am a guy lol. On the back there is this like metal shelves that you put frozen dead bodies! I was like..I hope I will not be in there. I was scared because I will be put to full sleep, afraid I will not wake up. I wake up with tubes on my knuckles and my nose. Also stickers that monitor my heart and brain and more to the computer

@DrOmarC But your whole body goes to sleep and you can't even breathe without them giving you oxygen. I also hate the thourt of someone putting a needle in me to make me go to sleep.

Hello! I'm a med student seriously considering this specialty and I was just wondering, how much time do you have for yourself in a week? I just want to roughly gauge how much I have to sacrifice to do well in this field! :)

@baseballplaya451 it is a very lucrative career but be prepared to pay back over $100,000 of loans....

ANESTHESIOLOGISTS are relying on the Respiratory therapist that is in the Operating room. Most of the time, the anesthesiologist administers the initial does and leaves the operating room. it is the Respiratory Therapist that actually adjusts the dosages and makes sure the patient is doing well by monitoring the vital signs.

@bomberfun1 Maybe he's from the middle east and he speaks broken and incorrect english? lol
Why do doctors use general anesthesia?
FrankIeroiscute 8 months ago
@FrankIeroiscute For surgery and/or a procedure where the patient needs to be safe and comfortable, while laying completely still.

@baseballplaya451 Being a physician is definitely a difficult task and lifestyle. With that said, I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. Find your passion and go with it.
