@Tyrant60 got your point but u dont need expensive materials just to create illusions, look it Chris Angels? They alway figure out how he did some of his illusions but he keeps on making new ones and thats how it should always be yo..take it easy.

It seems you missed my point. Illusionists buy illusions, weather it be designing from scratch or buying from an illusion designer... The masked magician put a lot of magicians out of work, and they couldn't afford more new illusions... Most illusions are thousands of dollars each. People need to work to afford to innovate, they cant work if their tricks have been exposed. Funny that you mention Ellen... I've actually performed on Ellen assisting a magician

Have you considered the millions in dollars of illusions that are no longer effective to the audience of this show? There's a reason why in magic, the motto is, don't teach a trick to a leman, he's going to tell his friends, and you're not going to be working any more. Every magician doesn't have the deep pockets of say, David Copperfield. Illusionists generally sacrifice their every penny on buying or building illusions just to get their start.
