(Sacramento) - Assembly Assistant Majority Leader Kevin de León (D-Los Angeles) has introduced landmark legislation to make California the first state in the nation to provide secure and portable savings accounts for workers. Assembly Bill 2940 will create the CalESP - the California Employee Savings Program - a voluntary, secure and completely portable retirement savings accounts that workers can freely take from job to job without penalty, helping prepare them for their retirement at no cost to taxpayers. The New America Foundation and Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger have endorsed the measure. Here's more in this Assembly Web Report
