Season 3 Episode 18 Part 3

Hosted by Leonard Nimoy and broadcast weekly from 1976 to 1982, In Search Of... is the greatest mystery documentary show ever. I grew up watching this show, enjoying the spine-tingling presentation of quasi-fact and dramatic synthesizer-heavy music of Rinder and Lewis.

I am not selling this material, neither am I interested in buying bootlegs. It is currently commercially unavailable, so I am joining with others to make evaluation of this excellent series possible.

I'm posting these videos to fill some gaps left by recently suspended users (from whom I downloaded these). Check my subscriptions to find users with more episodes, and drop me a note if you have posted any "new" ones. Thanks for watching!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE:
It's interesting to me that this episode doesn't mention Mengele's fascination with identical twins or exact details of the monstrosities he committed. While the Wikipedia article does go into a bit of detail about this, it seems to all but ignore Simon Wiesenthal's worthy vigil; thankfully this In Search Of... episode does.

Also, Mengele reportedly died within a week of this episode's original air date (Feb 1, 1979)...
From Wikipedia:
"Mengele, whose health had been deteriorating for years, died on February 7, 1979, in Bertioga, Brazil, where he accidentally drowned or possibly suffered a stroke while swimming in the sea."

  • I would like to see more people do as you have, and block the filthy language on Utube. I don't mind people posting their views regardless of what they are, but please, keep it out of the gutter.

  • @cowpat44 It's not so much the foul language as it is the way it has been applied here. Sadly, there is still no shortage of racism and ignorance in the minds of many people who can access the internet...

  • I don't agree with you on telling people to mind their opinions. I see this as a dogmatic way of keeping people at bay on such a evil person! You probably do not even own the copyrights to the 3 episodes you published. If you did you would not have broken this up into 3 sections. This is not a weak topic for discussion and my family sacrificed so much in WW2 to end the NAZI's as well as Imperial Japan. Opinions are like ********, Everyone has one and they all stink!

  • @jvhamby5 I am sharing a commercially unavailable show with a wider audience. Obviously I'm a big fan of the material myself and enjoy seeing this new audience emerge! I've seen the series in this unfortunate poor quality for sale by bootleggers on the web, so this is actually discouraging that illegal business and expanding a fan base should the series be reissued. That's another reason I don't want this space to be used like a bathroom stall.

  • One of the most unjust outcomes of the Holocaust was Mengele and all the other Nazi war criminals who were never brought to justice.

  • @cowpat44 You can't just block out everything you wish did not exist. You are going to have to open your eyes and face this world someday. Your fear disgust me!

  • @cowpat44 Get used to the gutter. Life is filled with good and evil. Stop blinding yourself to the real world. The gutter is just as important as the heavens. Stop being scared of real life and grow up!

  • I think that the title "Angel of Death" is not the right term for this man I think that he should be called " The instrument of Death".

  • Megele my have escaped the Nazi hunters he never had a minutes peace right up unto his death and then he had to confront his creator. I sure wish I had a copy of that discussion.

  • @Django5198

Dude, you'd probably faint if you did a rat dissection. I'm not praising Menegele or anything in anyway, but there's no need to stoop to that level. He should just have been hung like eichmann.

  • I don't believe the germans lost a thing during the wars.....lives are just collateral damage for the years that follow........germany is probably the best economy now in existence.....china probably a close second.....

  • @915buck actually the Germans lost just like every other large war they fought...the German nation are unmatched as a war machine, yet they lose everytime

  • I think he was just too smart, too smooth, some people are that way.......in this case the Jews lost!!!!

  • @ChelskiBonjourino yea, I think Unit 731 was far much worse. Mengele's? it was almost nothing. HAHA
