because lupe, who has been said to have traced influence from a tribe called quest, said he never even heard a song by them and they had no bearing on his career which pissed off the hip-hop community because of all the clear influences by them you can see in Lupe's music...Lupe tried to make it out like he never had any influences and everything he did was by himself, but hat was more than like 3 years ago...he acknowledges Hip-Hop legends, just a small slip up by him on that one
