Hold On chapter 23 part 1

common people its not that hard!

I had a crazy but fun weekend :)
friday- I went to my friend mariana's and had a "double date" with out two guy friends. we watched a scary movie and then i went to my friend rebecca's and slept over.

saturday- I went with rebecca and her dad and debbie to a rutgers football game (college football in case you didn't know) we tailgated and the food was awesome! Then after they dropped me off at home my friend liz picked me up and i went to her house. we cleaned her room and it took like six hours, no lie. I kidnapped like 10 of her outfits. we stayed up all night and were late for church lol

sunday- me and liz went to church and then went to wawa. we hung out at my house and wrote a song with my little sister (who is like CRAZY talented :)) we walked to wendys and then we hung out looking at acting and singing auditions. We baked cookies and then she had to go home :(

but now i'm alone and had time to post...FINALLY

Joe's pov

Who could Tess be talking to? She called him baby... I glanced at Nick who was practically glowing green with jealousy. Tessa finished her conversation and walked out of the kitchen looking smug.
I was about to ask who she had been talking to but someone beat me to the punch.
"Who was that?" Liz asked curiously
"Uhh" Tess stuttered "Just some guy from school..."
"Who goes by the name..?" Liz prodded
"Uh cough Adam cough..." Tess whispered looking scared of what Liz would say. A zillion thoughts flew through my mind. Had Tess started partying like Rae? Was Adam her boyfriend? Could he like her half as much as i did? My thoughts were interuppted when Liz exploded.
"Of all people you HAD to pick THAT pig?!" She freaked
"Actually I did because it's an exclusive party and it was the ONLY way we could get in!" Tess yelled. She looked gorgeous when she got mad. "You think I'm thrilled having to be that ugly jerk's date! I'm doing this for Rae!" She finished, her cheeks flushed from anger. I couldn't help myself. I walked over and hugged her she struggled at first but then gave up and hugged me back.
"Thank you" I whispered. And I meant it. Even though I didn't love Rae the way I loved Tess, she still meant alot to me.
"I'm so scared for her" She whispered so no one else could hear. I looked down and saw the tears in her eyes.
"Uhh, we'll be right back guys." I mumbled, grabbing her arm and dragging her up the steps. I looked back and saw Nick. He caught my eye and I swear I saw the jealousy burning through him.
I pulled Tess into my room and she broke down. The tears streaming down her face almost broke my heart. I layed her down on the bed and held her close to me, letting her cry into my chest.
"Shh. It's ok. Do you wanna tell me what happened?" I asked. I had put some of the peices together. Tess and her last party. Something bad had happened and she didn't want it to happen to Rae. She wanted to protect her and she would do anything to ensure that she could.
She started telling my her story in a shakey voice. About dating James and going to parties. I couldn't even express how relieved i was when I discovered she didn't drink. She started telling me about looking for Rae and James telling her she was upstairs. Then she got to the part about the bedroom...
"I asked if he was SURE she was up there" She cried. "He said 'No' and kissed me. He shut the door but I told him I had to find Rae. He pushed me onto the bed and wouldn't let me leave."
By that point I was furious. I didn't know who this guy was but I knew if I ever met him. I'd kill him.
"He was so much stonger than me and I couldn't stop him. He stared taking off my dress and I begged him to stop" she sobbed "I don't know what would've happened if Liz haden't found us...We were both only in our underwear...and then last night..."
I suddenly remembered last night and the homeless man. I hugged her even closer to me.
"NO one," I said sternly "Is going to touch you tonight."
"I know" she whispered smiling slightly at me. "Thanks Joe, you're a really good...friend"
I felt my heart sink. Friends. That was all we'd ever be. I just wished she'd stop messing with my head. She pulled me closer and lightly kissed my cheek.
"Well" she said smiling "We got a party to get ready for."
I couldn't help but smile. I hate having her in my arms because she'll never be mine, but when it comes down to it, theres no place I'd rather she be.
