Agreed. A lot of people forget that fact. If it wasnt for the Gracies, then grappling would still be thought of as a joke/uncool etc etc
They have changed the world of martial arts for the better.

@doctorsizzle rickson fought last in 1999/2000 against funaki,there was some very good lads around then who had been fighting for 4 or 5 yrs,he never tried to fight them,if he was the legend hes supposed to be hed have sought out the best,he did not,in fact he fought the worst lads possible.They were way behind what were seeing now,the were 1 dimensional lads who hadnt a complete game

It's the world we live in. People will always look for faults with anyone that's doing well. Rather win or lose people will find something to complain about. If they win, they will always name the opponents that they didn't face, and if they lose people will refer to them as useless excluding the fact that they stuck their necks out there and took a chance. Also they will criticize Rickson for not facing top level fighters, but not Gokor, Eddie Bravo, and Erik Paulson. Ironic isn't it

Dude people don't understand what the Gracies have done for all of us. If they weren't testing their limits and going out and competing with the world, we wouldn't have mma. They were ahead of the game.
