Chinese sculptors of all crafts are busy creating their own versions of Barack Obama to celebrate his first state visit to the country.
This Beijing hairdresser collects his customers unwanted hair to build his Obama model. He uses clumps of dyed hair for his sculpture.
[Huang Xin, Hairdresser]:
"I am making the sculpture of the U.S. President Obama. I welcome his visit to China, on behalf of all the artist hairdressers, by making a sculpture of him."
Huang normally creates models of famous Chinese landmarks.
But Tianjin sculptor Er Baorui is happy to stick to a more conventional technique. This waxwork expert has a special knack for creating skin.
Er has been working on his Obama model for the last year since the president won the U.S. elections.
[Er Baorui, Sculptor]:
"I had seen a photo of Obama before the actual election and I knew that he was going to win the presidency. Because I think his face is very charming, especially to young people. He has the face of a superstar."
But this is not his first attempt at modeling politicians. Former U.S President Bill Clintons head sits half finished. The wax project was abandoned after an alleged U.S. spy plane crashed in China back in 2001.
Damn that guy made his Obama look better than the one at Disney's Hall Of Presidents
