1) errmmm, following from what you said ... You made the claim that "he real Ip Man was never caught by the Japanese, did not fight any Japanese fighters" is a fact but supported it with nothing ....
2) It is a movie for heaven's sake! Made to entertain and not a documentary!

an awesome one.

The point isn't to have a amazing final battle where both sides are equally match but the good side wins because of extraneous reasons. Ip Man never wanted to fight any of the Japanese at all, all of his fights with the the Japanese are because of outside factors (friend's death, being captured and forced to fight). His ability was always without a doubt higher than everyone else.
