The Taliban are on the move in Pakistan, and control of the country is now clearly in their sights. Despite a recent military offensive in Swat, bombing missions are being run in all major cities.

Eighty per cent of Pakistanis are prepared to accept Sharia Law. The Pakistani Taliban now leads an alliance of over 40 extremist groups. The Talibanisation of the whole of Pakistan is not only very dangerous but also closer to reality than the situation in Afghanistan says author Ahmer Rashid. How long can a moderate, secular Pakistan, withstand rising extremism?

The taliban are no better than the spanish during the spanish inquisition. The bad part is a lot of pakistanis support their beliefs. Unfortunately this influence of fear will cause oppression of the people who represent Islam and are humane about how they convert people. The nuclear weapon of any kind was the stupidest idea on the planet. I just pray to the God of our universe that our doom is not met by the blast of a nuc.. and nuclear fallout exposure.

America is their biggest excuse, which just goes to show more of their primitive ignorance. Children aren't safe in Afghanistan because their mothers aren't safe. Any good mother would protect her children from pedophiles. In the western world, every good father would protect not only his children, but also his wife from all harm.

the millions oppressed in afghanistan under those so called islamic laws will never be forgiving anyone. people lost lives for no reason..forget cinemas...people werent even allowed to go to school.
