@OAKLANDCHICANOS14 If you're not a banger you won't have any problems, period. And school programs are good, but what, you think everyone in a gang is 17 or something? There's plenty of grown ass men in these gangs that have no use for after school programs. They're career criminals who have no use for jobs and rec centers because they're entrenched in this lifestyle. Fuck ignorance, support the injunctions and curfew.

The only way to end violence is for the cultures to change their values and behaviors. That would be the ONLY strategy that would work. The country invests more than enough for the youth in those communities, but nothing changes because their cultures don't improve themselves. Why don't those poor Oakland communities study Koreans, Japanese & Chinese Americans? They were dirt poor and faced racism. How come they've found the path to success? Did whites just hand it to them?
