This highly respected, long-lived model is a favorite among shortwave and medium wave DXer's and is very collectable. Two bandwidths with fair/good selectivity and sensitivity. WIDE bandwidth filter . Unique automatic ECSS "sync" tuning system is very effective. Clock/ Timer. Carefully matched 120 cm telescopic antenna. LED tuning meter. Dial light. Very versatile 32 channel memory and SCAN functions. Keyboard entry or manual tuning knob. There's a button on this receiver which is a major high-point. It's marked "sync". Push it, and the receiver switches to either upper or lower sideband, but locks on to the station's carrier. It's an automated version of the old shortwave listener technique of switching to single-sideband and tuning very carefully to get rid of the resulting whistle. Why bother? Because the result is a signal less prone to the fading distortion, and it's very handy if there is a strong station on one side of the one you're trying to listen to. Press the "sync" button, and select either the lower or upper sideband, which ever gives clearer reception.

  • Just pulled my Sony ICF 2010 back out. Works great. Just can't find my manual to program it. Can anyone send me a PDF of the few most important pages? Thanks.

  • I still have my Sony ICF 2010....I bought it new in the 1990s. I still have the original box, directions and sales receipt. They are worth more now than when they were new

  • I own one of these choice receivers. I bought it in1992. One of the best products Sony has ever made. A true work horse.

  • I've got two peaces and I love them!

  • I bought one of the last to be produced in 2003. Superb radio.

  • i love mine....

  • have used this for years, still the best

  • i am buying THIS ONE

  • Yes, it is a great radio, the SYNC is fantastic! But, my main speaker died, the power connector jack on the radio died, and the on/off switch is touchy! Still, i love it, will pay to fix it, and you out there if you can buy one DO IT. With a good antenna it is as good as stations 5 time the money! The SYNC is a huge plus in pulling weak stations out of the noise, AM or SSB! Thanks.
