I see. I also have delved into the ideas of polyrhythms and geometrical images quite similar to the ones you have displayed here. I am very curious about the means you used to produce them. A good first question for me seems to be: what are "garbage mats"?

Garbage mats are a cropping tool in programs such as final cut and after effects. They're important characteristic in this case is that they can be manipulated into shapes which in turn can then be manipulated in space.

the connection between the audio and visual is simply changes occurring simultaneously in the rhythm of both. In speaking for the visual I created this extensive garbage mat work using poly rhythmic concepts. Garbage mats through numbers instead of wysiwig increased my precision which I felt was important in relating to a song which seems to exemplify mathematics in nature and the complexity of our world when viewed through this lens. The visual is inspired by night sky's around 4 am.
