  • Bell would have to be one of my favourite violinists, but his movements do become quite distracting after a while.

    His violin is probably the best looking (and sounding) you are ever likely to find as well.

  • Hasta cierto punto, entiendo a este gran solista, lo que pasa es que algunos no entienden que muchas veces para "decir" un determinado pasaje, partitura, concierto o sonata el interprete necesita "añadir" de su propia personalidad carácter a la obra, esto significa de alguna manera: empujar, acariciar, etc al pasaje que ocupa su atención para destacar lo que probablemente quizo decir el compositor. Ejemplo de ello tenemos que cuando un pasaje de alguna obra tiene un glisando

  • Let me add to my last comment and clarify a point. People that say that Bell is moving too much or doing this or that aren't claiming that he lacks feeling. He clearly has feeling. I think most of us are pointing out that he is saturating the music with feelings that don't necessarily arise from the score - they are arising purely from his ego and vision of his own greatness as a soloist. We all know that Haydn is one of the greatest composers that ever lived - so why not take a humble appraoch?
