I agree with you totally on this Whoo. Now try to convince Keith Olbermann

The right-wing media and Christian Right would have us believe there's a "culture war", a battle for the soul of America. Nonsense! America's soul is right here. The problem is failed media and failed politics. Ralph Nader and other great 3rd-party candidates are a step in the RIGHT direction, not the wrong one.
Ralph Nader is the William Jennings Bryan of today, a true man of the people. Forget Barack. "Change", my ass. The only thing he'll change in office is his positions.

The media and the pundits would have you believe we're incredibly polarized, but the truth is, we're not at all. Most Americans are moderate, to one extent or another. They're either socially liberal and fiscally conservative (or vice versa), or they share lots of positions on different issues. The idea that we're all either liberal or conservative, as presented by mainstream media and the 2 major parties, is a total fallacy.
I mean, you have cons, libs, libertarians, greens, and so on.
-
The 2 major parties have become complacent, and they don't give a fuck about the workers and consumers anymore. They just want power and a majority in Congress as well as the judiciary. We need proportional representation in Congress, instant runoff voting, and fix the election day to make it a holiday or the weekend or something, not a regular Tuesday. That's a start. Then Congress will finally look more like the makeup of the country than just a duopoly of idiots.
-
We Nader and other third-party supporters CANNOT just keep giving in to the 2 major parties. We have to stand up against them and say "Screw you! We're taking a different path, a path to real success."

Plus, if McCain does somehow get elected (god forbid), I think these 8 years have made us much stronger in opposing his and Bush's policies. And if McCain has to deal w/ a Democratic Congress, there's no way he'll get half of his bullshit implemented, esp. war with Iran. Unless, of course, McCain uses scary war rhetoric like Bush did in 2002 and convince even Democrats to vote for another illegal war.
I don't see Obama being possibly much better than Bush as pres. He's incompetent.
-
We have to vote for him now and vote for real change, man. We can't just keep making excuses for not voting for the candidate we truly believe in and voting the lesser of 2 evils. I mean, how long until we can finally stop supporting the lesser of 2 evils??
Do we just wait until even the Democratic base doesn't like its nominee in 2012 or 2016 or 2020?? We don't have that kind of time! I dunno about you, but I don't feel like waiting.
-
Mr. Nader, I really like you and your ideas. However if people vote for you, John McCain may win. And that, dear mr. Nader, would be a disaster, not only for the USA, but for the whole world.

If people didn't commit the naturalistic fallacy while voting, Nader would be president no contest!
nader is a juckyard dog for justice!
