the bible mentions him as one in the old testament

he says that he IS ONE not

@RayWilliamJohansen I was relaying on the meaning of a Hebrew word. You are relaying on what a group of people believe instead of citing scripture…. I can say God is three in one because that is what scripture says. And I believe God’s word, and not in what a certain body of people believe whether they write or read in Hebrew or not.

@RayWilliamJohansen All people are accessible to make mistakes. We are not holy and certainly not good. That is why you cannot relay your religious stance on what a body of people thinks (your example, the Jews). You need to relay on what the actual word of God SAYS. If you relay alone on what another group of people think about God you are accessible to human error. I would advise you to read the bible for your self.

@RayWilliamJohansen Also in Genesis 1:26 it says “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness...” Notice how he says in OUR image and not my image. Also if you study some Hebrew in genesis. Some times when it uses God’s name in Hebrew it means plural. Which is another example of how God is truly one person who has three parts of him. I would encourage you to read into it and I pray that your heart would be softened and that you would not lean on your own understanding.

@RayWilliamJohansen There are three persons of the Godhead,Isaiah 48:16:“I have not spoken in secret from the beginning; From the time that it was, there am I; and now the Lord God, and his Spirit, hath sent me.”The speaker in this verse is God, and yet He says He has been sent both by The Lord God (that is, the Father) and by His Spirit .

@RayWilliamJohansen The bible declares the Trinity to be true hundreds of times. When the Bible says God is one, it means he is one in his thought and love, meaning he does not have split opinions.
