James Douglas Morrison (December 8, 1943—July 3, 1971) was an American singer, songwriter, poet, writer and film maker. He is best known as the lead singer and lyricist of The Doors and is widely considered to be one of the most charismatic frontmen in rock music history.[2] He was also the author of several books of poetry[2] and the director of a documentary and short film. Although Morrison was known for his baritone vocals, many fans, scholars and journalists alike have referenced his theatrical stage persona, self-destructive lifestyle and his work as a poet.
Père Lachaise Cemetery (French: Cimetière du Père-Lachaise; officially, cimetière de l'Est, "East Cemetery") is the largest cemetery in the city of Paris, France at (48 ha, 118.6 acres)[1], though there are larger cemeteries in the city's suburbs.
Père Lachaise is one of the most famous cemeteries in the world. Located in the 20th arrondissement, it is reputed to be the world's most-visited cemetery, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors annually to the graves of those who have enhanced French life over the past 200 years. It is also the site of three World War I memorials.
Père Lachaise is located on Boulevard de Ménilmontant. Métro station Philippe Auguste on line 2 is next to the main entrance, while the station called Père Lachaise, on line 3, is 500 metres away near a side entrance. Many tourists prefer the Gambetta station on line 3 as it allows them to enter near the tomb of Oscar Wilde and then walk downhill to visit the rest of the cemetery.
the little news agent stand at the top of the stairs of the metro sold a whole bunch of Jim morrison shirts. Just thought i'd add that fact in as it seemed to be the only place where they sold them which surprised me considering theres a large jim morrio fan base in paris

I took the same entrance in aug. 2006 when I was at Pere Lachaise to Visit Jim's grave. I bought flowers in the shop (left) next to this entrance. The main entrance is more to the right.

Knock off the fucking tourist commentary, you sound like an asshole, shut up idiot.
Christina should have walked down the cobble path completely naked to "You're Lost Little Girl" instead of your inane whistling you jerkoff.
She must strap on a dildo then drill you in the ass sans lube because you're a moron from Ohio or some jerkoff place like that.

@si506
It was stolen, quite some time ago now actually. There is a new bust made, but the artist is still waiting for the licence to put it on the grave.
