This is such a wonderful tribute to Major Bear. He was a gentle soul who taught a lot of people about the individual personality and temperment of a black bear. He is greatly missed. I hope that his brother finds a voice and will step in to continue his legacy of helping humans to truly understand black bears -- to respect and appreciate them on their own terms -- and to fight to preserve their habitat,.

Thank you so much for sharing your work with all these beautiful beings. My dear kitty passed this weekend also born in the summer of 1997. We called him Oliver, but he truly was a buddha teaching us about love, respect and kindness. No doubt Major Bear made the same contribution. May we all aspire to be as bright as these amazing beings amongst us.
