@Billie1982Jean1 Although I can see how one might interpret that as being cocky, he is likely just getting into the music. He seems to move a lot. Nothing wrong with getting into the music. I think anyways.

When one is as good as Baadsvik, they can play however the hell they want.

@Billie1982Jean1 He's just that legit

Thumbs for the TUBA!!!!!

@Billie1982Jean1 What are you talking about? When hes playing the way he moves his right hand? I do it to, it's not cockiness it's just how we do
-
it annoys me how he lifts his hand when he is playing so cocky

@VortShammy I've heard recordings by Patrick Harrild and Peter Whish-Wilson of which I think are more musical. Baadsvik just plows through it like it's just a bunch of notes. He does it really, well, too. I just don't like the interpretation.
And about the rehearsal... I'd very much doubt he is going through this for the first time, so I doubt the way he plays this in rehearsal would be much different from the performance. This rehearsal would only be for communication between him and the piano.

@Bradleyley1337 This was nothing but a rehearsal.. I like how you say his phrasing and articulation are only okay as well.. you listen to it and show me someone with better phrasing and articulation then him. Go listen to one of his concerts, AFTER his rehearsal and tell me his "musicality" isn't the best in town.

@ARay3060 with no rhythmic breath from Øystein in preparation to starting the piece I'd have to disagree with you here; the tempo seems pretty well rehearsed before hand. Though I would agree that Øystein's interpretation at this performance/rehearsal is strikingly fast compared to Vaughan Williams' metronome marking of quarter note = 96
Oystein is great but this is too fast for my taste, you can tell the pianist is pissed that he has to play at that tempo.
