The BoE Bot is a kit robot put out by Parallax, Inc. The kit can be purchased from Jameco.com for about $160, if you do not have the Board of Education Carrier Board or the BASIC Stamp 2 Module. The kit comes with everything you need to build the robot, including tools and two educational books that walk you through basic circuitry and various configurations of the robot. In this video I only demonstrate the using the feelers, but the book also shows you how to guide the robot based off of light, tracks, and other methods. There are also kits available to add on to the BoE Bot, allowing it to see using sonar, and even giving it an arm to play fetch.

The BoE Bot demonstrates the basic concept of Project 3 -- The RC Car Hack. Here we have a device using only 4 AA batteries (6 Volts) to power two servo motors, BoE Carrier Board, BS2, and all the components mounted on the small white bread board. I wonder what makes this robot work. I would almost bet it is the two black 10V 1000uF capacitors. However, at this point it is just a guess.
