Se5 flys a few circuits before trying to take out the cameraman. Built from the Aerographics kit, this has always flown well. It is now 3 years old but has recently been stripped of all tissue and recovered, now with rigging. Best flight to date is 55 seconds at Old Warden in 2008. I reckon I can get a minute out of this one. I have already clocked her at 53 secs since recovering - close but no biscuit.

  • Is that the 27" span SE5a? Flies amazingly well.

  • @CarreraGTSCS - Yes, it is the 27" span one. It is a very reliable flier, nice build too. Normally when a model gets old and tatty, I retire or destroy it. This one got into quite a state (because I flew it so much) but I liked it so much that I stripped it and re-tissued, re-painted and then added rigging. It looks better than ever, and flies as well as it ever did!

  • Very nice!

  • Nice landing!

  • Thanks for the quick reply. Glad to hear she's still going strong. I'm on a bit of a WW1 kick the last few months and have been looking for a nice Se5a to convert to electric and this one looks really nice and flies beautifully. Have to see who sells Aerographics in the states.

Any more video of this one flying?

  • That looked superb!
