"US made money off the bailouts" was one of the biggest lies that I have ever heard as well. AIG was bailed out, will we ever get our money back? NO. People need to understand that AIG was bailed out to cover credit default swaps that went to Goldman Sachs and foreign banks such a Societe Generale. People need to look up Maiden Lane Transactions. Hank Paulson was CEO of Goldman before he took the Treasury Sec job and avoided paying taxes on $200 million in profit, then pushed the AIG bailout.
