God of War: Chains of Olympus is a game with high standards to live up to. The God of War series has established itself as the premiere action franchise on the Playstation 2 with huge production values, an epic story and fluid, addictive combat. These qualities don't generally translate well to portable gaming, but Chains of Olympus manages to distill the essence of the series and make it work on the PSP. It's a remarkable achievement: God of War feels incredibly natural on the handheld without sacrificing what makes the series great.

The storytelling and controls have been streamlined, but will still feel familiar. Juggling enemies, setting up combos, and performing cinematic kills is just as frantic and fun as ever. There are fewer boss battles and they never reach the epic standards set by God of War II, but they're still intense and satisfying. While countless games are now incorporating quick-time-events, few use them as well as the God of War series and this game is no exception -- they add an element of style to the gameplay without ever becoming a distraction.

God of War: Chains of Olympus excels in just about every area: the audio is top-shelf, the graphics are probably the best the PSP has to offer, and the control is amazingly solid. This is the game that shows what the PSP is capable of and it illustrates the fundamental differences between Sony's handheld and the Nintendo DS. This kind of polished, cinematic violence is simply unthinkable on the kid-friendly DS. Fans of the series, or action games in general, owe it to themselves to check it out.

  • Hey, cool video.. I like God of war.

I have a question though, who was in the centre of the holy trinity. Some guy I know that looks like a goat thinks that it is his computerteacher and we bet like 100$ on it.
