  • Arthur Briggs had a brother Pete who played brass bass in Armstrong's hot seven recording. They never recorded together.Arthur moved to London in 1930 and played at Ciros Club.Love Brigg's full but rounded tone on his trumpet playing

  • @davidglow3

Thank you for this interesting information !

  • That special timbre of Al can be detected even on such an early "jazzy" recording.

Berlin starts to allure me more and more !

  • @jazzgirl1920s Briggs' band is such a syncopated group of music men. I love their Chicago style.

  • @davidglow3 According to wikipedia it says Pete Briggs is his cousin. Also another source affirmed this; I think it was a biography about Arthur. Who knows the truth..it was so long ago, they didn't keep steady documents on particulary the African society due to the end of slavery, so they had really no reason to keep track.

  • Oh!! I LOVE THIS!!! Great Recording, Thank You So Much For Shairing.

  • Thanks for posting this great recording by Briggs band. Also this recording has a lot better sound quality than most Briggs German recordings I have heard from the 1920's. Most I have heard are from 78's in poor shape but not this one!

  • My compliments for this beautiful collection of wonderful old original songs.

Very enjoyable song and fox trot!

Thanks for this musical opportunity 5*
