The birth of Sean Thomas Perry, April 29, 2010. This newborn baby is literally 3 minutes old and he actually holds the forceps while the nurse removes the last section of his umbilical cord to create what will soon be his belly button. Maybe he'll be a surgeon when he grows up. Welcome to the world Sean.

  • @SuperMetallady Um, actually I am a registrered nurse, and I happen to work at a maternity ward here in Sweden. So YES I do know something about medicine. This is NOT how we treat the new family at "our" planned c-sections. The baby gets put on the mothers chest after the cord is cut (which isn't instantly but after a minute so that the baby recieves most of it's blood from the placenta/cord).

There is NO need to clean up, measure and weigh the baby straight away!!

  • @EllieBelen "Most people" who prefer an immediate check up/cleaning/ measuring-process are obviously not aware of the process that takes place in the mother/baby the hour following birth. Every minute is important!

Read this article by the world-famous obstetrician Michel Odent and understand why: midwiferytoday. com/ articles/ firsthour.asp

Or check out this website: magicalhour. com/ aboutus.html

Conclusion: My argument is not invalid.

  • The baby is so cute

  • wtf he has a massive head

  • The Umbilical cord is a disgusting thing.

  • @MrsPoptart77

Not everyone wants a 'natural' birth. Because, as it turns out, it hurts. There's also some risks that I'm sure you know of.

Where I live, tehy avoid c-section unless needed. But I can see why many women don't want vaginal birth

  • @Boooh89 their skulls aren't fully developed when they're born. Once it finishes developing, it'll look normal.

  • my brother and his G/f had a baby in Thailand they wouldn't let him hold his baby for a day or so and I think she had little contact with it too, we in Australia got to hold the baby after the first minute (after the apgar test) :) differs greatly between countries doesn't it :)

  • @MrsPoptart77 yea unless there is breathing difficulties or something :)

  • my youngest is called Sean he was also very blonde and bald hehe :)
