Kaito and Miku's "カンタレラ" with Romaji Lyrics

After doing a little bit of research on Canterella, I learned that it is indeed a lethal poison.
However, in small doses, it merely renders the victim unconscious with the appearance of death for 3-4 hours, including no breathing and no pulse.
So, the way I see this, Kaito intended to kill Miku in an attempt of "if I can't have her no one can" but didn't give her enough of the lethal poison to truly kill her.
Just my opinion though.

Didn't you see him cry. He was crying, regretful for what he had done. Canterella is an extremely lethal poison.
He intended to kill Miku, as rommie said, it was the mentality, "If I can't have her, no one can."
He immidiately started to regret his actions, but in a stroke of luck, or perhaps even a miracle, he didn't use enough poison to get the job done.

This song is wonderful, but the meaning and video is sad at times. :(
I had a question, though; What time era was this, or what time era did men wear Kaito's outfit? I feel like I've seen it before...like in Romeo and Julliet.

@HitsugayaToshiro22 Yeah, the Renaissance era is the time when this arsenic was used. (Theory is that Juliet must've used Canterella. -shrug-
