An economic model that combines the energy of profit-making with the objective of fulfilling human needs, "social business" seeks to create self-supporting, viable commercial enterprises that generate economic growth while producing goods and services that make the world a better place. Muhammad Yunus discussed how "social business" transforms lives, offered practical guidance for those who want to create social businesses of their own, and explained how public and corporate policies must adapt to make room for the "social business" model.
