domestic adoption is pretty shaky. the costs can range wildly and the birth parents can swoop in after the fact and take the child back. we just couldnt handle that

Bret- We are going through a domestic adoption from our state right now and the costs are very minimal. The number of children in the system is huge and a large majority of them already have their parental rights terminated. The parent cannot swoop in after the fact. This is a large misconception about domestic adoption.

I'm not responding an a negative way...just clearing up some facts.

we just got scared when we studied the potential downside of a california adoption, but of course it needs to be done and all these kids need love. great work and thank you for your perspective

I am just curious, have you looked into domestic adoption? Of course I don't know your current family... I really admire the willingness to share your family with other children.

Sometimes I make videos just for my son and I keep them private. I hope youtube is around after I die, and he'll have that record of my love for him. Anyway, I hope that for the little one you are waiting for too.
