http://rebliss.com/ MapQuest released a FREE iPhone app that includes voice navigation. Not only does the app work extremely well, but it also includes features such as auto reroute and the ability to map multiple addresses.

  • I see from the video that the voice does not tell the street name to turn to. This may cause confusion in cases where there are couple of streets close to each other and the voice just says turn right

  • @anupk47 The MapQuest app has been updated and now says the street name. The app has been updated several time since I made the video 11 months ago. The app also turns as you turn on different streets, it use to only point North no matter what direction your car was moving. The MapQuest App is my favorite iPhone map app.

  • does this use up a whole amount of internet data? cause at the moment I can only afford the 2gb's of data a month...

  • @BrianDW40 I am not sure how much data is uses. But I have the 2Gig data plan and use the MapQuest app almost everyday and I have never come close to using 2 gigs of data.

  • i love this app!!

  • @ChrisGooley Me too! It has replaced all of my other iPhone map apps.

  • I have a motorized bike im gonna test on that:)

  • One concern I have is not being able to use satellite pictures in MapQuest for iPhone. For some reason, the option is available on the Android version but not iOS.

  • @REblissdotcom Thanks. I finally bought an iphone and MapQuest has got pretty good voice commands which is what is needed while driving. It doesnt have an impressive visual map on the screen screen but thats ok since I was more interested in voice navigation. For a free app this is awesome and the latest version does give you street names which is great. However I live in Connecticut(CT) and Mapquest reads CT84 as Court84 lol.

  • @hottaznguy The GPS will work without 3G but it can't route or download maps (the maps aren't stored, they are pulled off of the internet as-needed). The GPS will also lock much slower without 3G. However, the data usage is minimal, if you have an iPhone then you have an AT&T Data plan, it's required, so the 2GB plan would be plenty, even the 200MB plan if you didn't do anything else.

I drove about 500 miles with a similar app, constantly on, used about 40 megs of data.

  • @BrianDW40 that's a good question. anyone have an answer?

  • do u need a internet connection for it to work?
