I kept thinking during the movie that Jacob had so much to deal with so quickly. He was just trying to survive with overwhelming grief. Can you imagine your parents dying and then finding out that they had risked everything for you? That they had given the bank all they owned to get their son through college. I know it's only a story but I'd bet his father knowiing he was dying wished he'd done things different. Robert was just excellent in this part. I don't know how he does it all.

I think he was comfortable because it's more like his own nature. A soft person. Not that I would know but I think it's what he's like. The story is lovely. I didn't appreacite the woman so much. She didn't seem to fit him somehow. Her age for one thing and then he calls her beautiful which I don't think she is. Her lips are too thin for one thing. I don't get how actors throw themselves into a love story like this because someone has signed a contract. I kept thinking she was a mistake.
