Hence, the motivation behind burning the man on Tuesday morning when nobody was looking. BRC LLC brought this upon themselves. They rebuilt on time for Saturday so no harm, no foul. My camp has talked about burning the man early for years and we think its about good goddamn time.

The problem here is that there were people who didn't expect a burn at the time it occurred. Prankster should've thought of that fact before setting the man alight prematurely.

It was great seeing the man burn early, I wish they would not have built a new one. Would have been a big let down to the people who come in saturday, just to see that event, the people who trash the place then leave. However, I dont think the guy who did it should have gotten any publicity. He was just arrested last week for trying to set a San Francisco cathedral on fire.

In the early years, lots of things, include chunks of camps, went up in flame ALL over the playa and rolling orgies took place on couch laden flatbed trucks that drove around the esplanade. And there were guns. And dynamite. And no cops. It is different now, for sure, but still very fun and decadent. You just have to be more discrete.
