@ThcMadness No, you can just plug it in to a guitar amp or put headphones in, and use it just fine. I was wondering this myself until I talked to a Guitar Center employee. I'm sure I'm a little late, but I hope I helped.

the pad at 1:35 is in the alesis micron hahahahaha its called elektronique on the alesis micron hahahaha lol
its like a generic version of the alesis mircon "x,y,z" "two mod wheel" " whitekey shortcuts"
watch my video "Synth breakdown pt 2" and you can hear the exact same pad being used in the song, the song is called AC 130 INBOUND By Start The Fire Up

i don't think so as akai mpd18 is powered by USB, so, no chance, u must connect it to the usb.
