Just watching this made me choke up with tears. We can never heal their wounds or bring back their son, but at least this hate crimes bill will finally become law.
After 11 long years, the FINAL vote just happened in the Senate. It's now on to the President's desk. Thank you Dennis and Judy for everything you did to make this a reality.
Judy Shepard is a true hero Matthew was a martyr. No one should have to die for people to wake up and realize that something is amiss.
We're all people, we all bleed when you cut us, we cry when you hurt us, and we mourn, for the rest of our lives, when the people we love are stolen from us. God bless the Shepards for being so strong and for standing up for our rights even when the road is long and never easy.
Its hard to believe its been 11 yrs since the death of Matthew Sheppard. We are slowly moving one step foreward.. Thanks Judy and Dennis for everything you have done for the community
Judy & Dennis have been so inspirational. They have been so brave speaking out about the violence that happens to many gay and lesbian people and how it affected there lives.
