My wife Linda wanted a little subcompact gun for conceal carry. She had a stroke a few years ago and is rather weak in hand strength so I wanted her to have a 22 just for now.

Evenually I think I am going to get her to a 38spcl revolver but for now, this PT22 is good.

  • my pt22 tends to jam up on me. does anyone know why that is? i think it may be just the cheap rounds i`m using, but it`s really starting to piss me off. comment back please

  • Try using different ammo. The big thing with 22 is to try using solid point or round nose, NOT hollowpoints. Hollowpoints have a tendency to jam certain guns and cause problems. I know that my Ruger 22/45 won't handle hollowpoints except for the cheap Walmart Federal bulk pack hollowpoints. The cheap Federal bulk packs have a very pointy hollowpoint, not so flat as most.

Sorry you got a lemon, mine has about 500 rounds through it, it's reliability has been flawless and it's more accurate than I can believe. Remington 22 ammo is crap by the way, we call their golden bullet brand "Golden Duds" because it misfires so often and has A LOT of weak underpowered rounds when it does work.

  • Dont get the Taurus PT 22 with nickel finish and black synthetic grips. I bought one because it was on sale at Gander Mountain and it wouldnt fire any ammo I put through it, CCI and remington. And when it did it would be a failure to eject the casing. I sold it back to gander mountain a month later.

If anyone wants to know of a good semi auto .22, check out the Bersa Thunder .22. Same price as the Taurus. except much better quality and can shoot any ammo. Hyper velocity and high velocity

  • What's up with the long nails?

  • she looks mad better be more nice to her lol

Dude I have a PT-22 it's never jammed yet so WTF is wrong with yours?

  • @slushbox86 its not the rounds...this gun is just a pile of (*%(. send it back and u will spend the rest of the year waitin on fedex. or chaulk it up as a loss. either way dont try to convince ur self u didnt get ripped off....cuz u did. use the recommended rounds and it jams, oil it and....it jams. clean it...and...it jams. shoot it...and the grip breaks and u get where im goin with this?....POS

  • 9 SHOTS WITHOUT A JAM? GOTTA BE A RECORD FOR THIS PILE OF A GUN? MUST BE SOME EDITING GOIN ON.

  • @slushbox86 did you buy it new? i bought a phoenix arms but after about 3 or 400 rounds it stopped jamming so much.

  • @slushbox86 not holding it steady enough, try shooting while supporting your weapon with two hands of equal squeeze. Dont squeeze too hard.

    (many years of shooting experience)

  • @slushbox86 Try CCI or Federal if you haven't by now.
