@bigdaddycoolshoes this kata comes from soke tony ball of frankston
-
@bigdaddycoolshoes looks like a nunchuku routine with tonfa to me.
-
I can only come to the conclusion this isn't traditional, but made up then.
-
Shouldn't it be "Sho", not "Shodan"? And again, does anyone know the origins of this kata? If I keep asking I may get an answer! You never know!
-
uhm, how do I say it? Kinda short, and I suppose even taking the ability the performer seems to have, unimpressive. I don't doubt combat ability, but the kata seems a bit boring.
P.S to anyone who wants to do this, clicking your tonfas together like that might impress some people who don't own them or just don't think about it, but all it does is damage the handles.
-
Can you ask him where this kata came from then please?
-
This guy is my sensei!!

molto bello!
@Ruthairat - no offense taken. Although the camera was a little stretched horizontally (a little), I was a little larger back then. As far as the coloured gi top, it is a tradition followed in our system and the colour forms part of my coat of arms.
Thank you for your compliments - I/we are slowly working on putting more footage on YouTube soon. Please subscribe if you are interested.

@bigdaddycoolshoes - please see my comment on the Tanto Kata, but this actual kata also came from Soke Lawrence, and was taught to me by Soke Tony Ball. Also, the 'sho' and 'shodan' are generally interchangeable when referencing Kata. 'First' or 'first level'.
@animeOmega125 - we practice Kata to develop spirit and technique. Whether it is impressive or not doesn't really come into it for us. There are many clips on YouTube if you're looking for something more aesthetically pleasing though.
