This video is a 5 minute short that was created for the Technology Student Association challenge (TSA). The competition is titled: Digital Video Production. We were to create a 5 minute short with a drama theme.

We won 1st at Regionals, 2nd at State, and 2nd at Nationals (2011).

We chose to create a civil war drama that depicts the war life of a young soldier who is thrown into the horrors of war. His general commands that his soldiers raid a town that recently captured the life of his son. When the young boy enters the home he sees a young girl and immediately feels a connection. He allows her to leave the home and she runs out and escapes. Later the young girl (Mary) goes to his hanging, she watches carefully, but he begins to fumble with the ropes and it ends as a cliff hanger. The video does not reveal whether he escapes of not

  • Wow! This was amazing! I don't know how this came in 2nd; 1st must have been freaking legit! Also, I have a question. My video came in 1st at regionals and didn't place at state. I think it had something to do with my notebook being incorrect. Is there anyway I could look at your notebook as an example (like, on PDF or something)? I would be INCREDIBLY grateful!!!!

  • @chrishobdy9494 Hey! Sorry, I haven't been on YouTube lately, crazy week. The first place is the German team's. They have a FANTASTIC camera that shoots great quality footage. They have it up here. I'll try and find it and post the link. I had the SAME problem last year with my "Oceans of Hope" film. I got first at regionals, then got 9th at nationals (Baltimore year). This year we actually came in second at regionals, then second at nationals and the film that got first didn't make top ten.

  • @brehudpirate This competition is SO subjective it's not even funny. But the binder is a HUGE part of it. The problem with the binder is we have ours in all separate photoshop files that are huge in file size. I can definitely give you some pointers on the binder, just e-mail me your e-mail. Mine is: brehud@hotmail.com

  • @chrishobdy9494 I found the German's film, but it won't let me post the link, but the film is called "Five Faces"
