My Ball Python taking out its bi-weekly meal of a Medium Rat. You will not hear any laughing in the background, as this is not entertainment for me. I'm just feeding the snake what it eats. I do find it fascinating, but that is snakes in general.

I choose to feed my snake 'live' food as apposed to frozen/thawed to try and make the snakes life in captivity as 'realistic' as possible. I do realize that it is safer for the snake and 'easier' on the rat/mouse to use pre-killed. I have feed this snake frozen/thawed and it will eat those with no issues. Just my personal preference. This snake is a very hearty eater and never hesitates to eat anything that is put in the cage. At the same time, I have never been bitten or struck at with this python.

Respect is given when handling and feeding. Great care is taken in keeping the enclosure clean and tidy with fresh substrate and water. A close eye is kept on the temperature and humidity. Very healthy snake, always sheds in one piece in the year and half I have had it.

I am no animal activist, but I am against cruelty. I do not consider this cruelty as it is merely NATURE. Is it a bit 'rough' sometimes? Sure, but that is the way of the world. If you can't handle or don't like seeing these things, then maybe you shouldn't be watching or searching for these types of videos. Answer? Most likely cause your a troll.

Rude, animal cruelty, or just plain stupid comments will be deleted. As a heads up, I am not subjective to 'internet intimidation' from someone that gets big and bad behind a keyboard because of the anonymity that the internet provides. So don't waste your time if your just trolling, your comment will be deleted.

  • Wow this is probably the most natural snake feeding in captivity I have ever seen. The snake gets to ambush its prey. Amazing.

  • @FattyDudley Thanks, I try to make it as natural as it can be. It's not too hard, she has one hell of a feeding response =)

  • @RandomChocolate008 Rats are definitely awesome pets. That is if you get one either from freshly weaned, or a an actual rat bred for being a pet rather than being food. The ones that I get, that are bred for feeding, are super messy and don't seem to be too smart. Nothing like the pet rats you see here on youtube.

  • @integraral Ahh.... I understand... And it is a pretty snake after all.... Too bad for me that I like rats so much :(

  • @RandomChocolate008 A majority of snake breeders do feed F/T ( frozen thawed ) or Pre-Killed. Mainly because of the number of snakes they have to feed. If you feed live, you really need to watch to make sure the mouse/rat doesn't harm the snake in the process. I don't have a large collection so I prefer to feed live to further 'stimulate' the snake.

  • @FattyDudley Ahh... okey :) I guess live food taste better ...

Btw! I really like your name! xD

  • @RandomChocolate008 Some snakes like corn snakes are okay with pre-killed food or live food, others like ball pythons really prefer to eat live, although they can eventually accept pre-killed food.

  • @FattyDudley I know that... and thats why I said that he SHOULD keep feeding his snake...

Do snakes have to eat live animals or do they just like that better? Just wondering..

  • Beautiful snake, beautiful cage, UGLY rat.

  • @RandomChocolate008 You are rather biased. While it's painful for the rat to be constricted by the snake, it is also painful for the snake to not eat.
