@gin666 What about treats make a dog weak? And if u use a ball , must you have that on you? It s in how you do it, not necessarily what your reward is. The ball has a lot of disadvantages also. I'd think a tug that inspires play and engages with the owner instead would have more advantages. Many of the finest trainers (as well as finest train k9's) were trained with food at some stage in the learning.

dont train your dog with treats, it makes them weak and not willing to do anything without you having them on you.

Use a ball instead, Treats are for housedogs ;).
