Well I am interested in both being creative and collaborating and I am working on a project in Blue Mars ... so there seems to be a lot of misinformation here. Oh, and I am an artist! Blue Mars is not, and is not trying to be, Second Life (thank goodness). Blue Mars is a platform for new ideas.

Any virtual world in which users can create in real time has to stream, and Blue Mars doesn't offer that capability to users. Anyone who isn't interested in being creative alone or in collaborating on builds with others will be fine in Blue Mars. Artists and other creative people will stick to Second Life.

they failed to bring together the flexibility of a classical "virtualWorld" and content management system with a gameEngine ...
this means: apart from a few selected developer and artists there will be no thousand clubs, no thousand gallerys, no thousand events, no ...
because normal user cannot...
the most important point was not reached ...
tss....
thats not guti ;)

What "content" are you speaking of which must be "downloaded?" Content in games like WoW isn't downloaded, it's stored locally on your HDD and is invoked by instructions which are downloaded. The content itself isn't downloaded, only the instructions telling it what to process and display.

Very true. I will miss sl's reputation.
Look at it this way,
Developers create new technologies all the time, second life is web friendly graphics, which is good because anybody with the basic pc specs can login, blue mars and future 3d projects will be far more graphic, sl will just be like an old content managment system left behind when new and better cms comes out.

I'm talking about User Created Content. In Second Life you can upload textures animations 3D objects, sounds, scripts, etc. That's why Blue Mars seems more stable, because it doesn't offer any of that.
I logged in to Blue Mars and it didn't have to download any texture because they were all already in the installer, so yes, that is fast.
