@Carmaker1 New York City was once where all of the soaps, except a few, were filmed. NYC was home to these great soaps:
All My Children, Another World, As The World Turns, Loving, The Doctors, The Edge of Night, The Guiding Light, Ryan's Hope, Search for Tomorrow, Somerset, Texas, and of couse, One Life to Live. There are probably even more than listed here but these are the ones I could recall.
@Carmaker1 Your One Life to Live & Soap Channel is excellent! It is a great tribute to the iconic OLTL & it is very sad indeed that these shows are being canceled one by one. It is awful for a million reasons: it's awful for the audience; it's sad for the NYC theater & acting communities; it's sad for hundreds of people out of work as a result of the cancellations. One Life to Live, the last soap shot in NYC, filmed its last episode on 11/18 : (
@gspinc1 As much I was happy to find and have the only available online copy of this opening in late 2005, I've been intent on finding every sequence and version to date. That's probably why I posted so many videos as these shows have a story, yet have great longevity, until lately. Most people are shocked that as an Igbo-American male mechanical engineering student, gearhead, and car fanatic, I watch soaps and run a channel dedicated to them. Have a happy T-day!
@gspinc1 Well, I hope my comment wasn't too brash, I was just shocked by that previous statement on one of my videos & how it actually came from someone as nice as you. I have to say this is my first OLTL opening as my first memories of the show in 1993-94(really young), used this pne, but I didn't know what the name of the show was back then. Thank you, I'm very devoted since as a child the themes of these shows stuck with me & due to nostalgia, 10 years later in early 2006 I set up a channel.
@Carmaker1. I stand corrected regarding the 1995 OLTL opening. I watched OLTL in the ea. 90's & AW until
'99. Soap openings of the era were seemingly inspired by Melrose Place; Another World, similar to MP, adopted the abbreviated AW as the show's main title & a techno-pop musical score. The 1995 OLTL opening seemed very similar; my prior comment regarding the OLTL '95 opening was unfair. It's great to see that you're a very devoted OLTL fan. OLTL's continuing online is awesome!
@gspinc1 Yes, it's a matter of personal taste and opinion. I just find it absurd how you claimed elsewhere that the thankful & highly lauded 1995 replacement for this opening was a "mere rip-off" of Another World's mid-1990s opening, when the press lauded it & the AW opening came WELL AFTER it in March 1996. Don't get me wrong, I love the music & closing sequence, but most viewers of this show hated it the most. It's almost as bad as the current '04-present cheesy remix of the 1995-2004 opener.
@Carmaker1: I haven't watched OLTL since the early 90s. Is it still on TV? The early 90's OLTL opening was very popular with all of my college and grad sch girlfriends in NYC. They loved its very dream-sequence, dream-scape quality. The previous OLTL theme of the late 80's was unappealing to my friends and me. So to sum up, it's just a matter of personal taste or a particular groups' personal taste. This is just nostalgia for me; I've not watched OLTL since then.

@gspinc1 In having the oldest Youtube upload of this opening sequence, I consider it to be the worst and it should never resurface again. Random actors in near-pornographic scenes, replacing a tableau of cast members was a shoddy and ill-conceived idea of Linda Gottlieb in 1991. SBH made a great decision in 1995 to replace it with the Tour of Llanview II. By early January 1992 this was already panned as inappropriate and pornographic. I will say that the theme music is serene and well-composed.

@gspinc1 Also, OLTL is still on TV and is the 2nd-3rd highest rated soap in the United States.
