How to Cook Braised Short Ribs| Williams-Sonoma

In this video, watch culinary expert Jessica show you how to cook braised short ribs. This is an Italian recipe, made using a slow cooker. To begin making the braised short rib recipe, first season the meat pieces with salt and pepper. Dredge the pieces in flour and keep aside. Cook pancetta in a pan till it gets brown and keep it aside. Next, brown the short ribs in the same pan, on both sides. Remove and keep in a separate bowl.

Add some more olive oil to the slow cooker. Add onions, carrots, and celery, and cook for ten minutes. Add garlic, tomato paste, wine, and rosemary. Next, add the cooked pancetta and short ribs to this mixture. Transfer this mixture to a slow cooker and keep for four hours.

Remove and keep aside the braised short rib pieces. Pour the remaining liquid or the sauce ingredients into a food mill and churn. Pour this sauce back to the pan and cook till the sauce thickens.

Place the short ribs on a serving plate and pour the thickened sauce over it. With these simple steps you can now know how to cook braised short ribs, and your delicious short ribs recipe is ready to serve!
